Crowns & Bridges
Full-coverage restorations for broken teeth, and fixed replacements for missing ones.
A crown caps a tooth that has lost too much structure to hold a filling — after a fracture, a large old restoration or a root canal. A bridge uses the teeth either side of a gap to carry a replacement tooth across it.
Both start with a digital scan rather than a tray of impression material, and both are designed against your existing bite. Modern ceramics let us make a crown that is strong enough for a molar and still translucent enough for a front tooth.
A bridge is a fixed, permanent solution that does not come out, but it does rely on preparing the neighbouring teeth. Where those teeth are healthy and untouched, an implant is often the better long-term answer, and we will say so.

Common questions
Crowns & Bridges
How long do crowns last?
Commonly ten to fifteen years and often much longer. What usually fails is not the crown but decay at its margin — which is a hygiene question, not a materials one.
Crown, bridge or implant?
A crown restores a tooth you still have. For a missing tooth, a bridge is faster but involves the neighbouring teeth; an implant leaves them alone and typically lasts longer. We will lay out both.
Will it look like a crown?
On a front tooth, a well-made ceramic crown is very hard to pick out. We match shade and translucency to the tooth beside it.
