Implant Restorations
Crowns, bridges and overdentures built onto dental implants.
An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth; the restoration on top replaces the part you see. We plan implant cases with 3D imaging and restore them in-house, working with a surgical colleague where placement is needed.
The advantage of an implant over a bridge is that it stands alone. Neighbouring teeth are not prepared, the bone under the gap keeps being loaded so it does not shrink away, and the tooth cleans like a natural one.
3D cone-beam imaging lets us see bone volume and the position of nerves and sinuses before anything is planned, so we know in advance whether a site will work, whether grafting is needed, and exactly where the implant should sit.

Step by step
What to expect
3D assessment
Cone-beam imaging to map bone volume and vital structures.
Plan
The final tooth is designed first, and the implant position planned to suit it.
Heal
The implant integrates with the bone over some months, with a temporary in place.
Restore
Your crown, bridge or overdenture attachment is fitted and adjusted.
Common questions
Implant Restorations
How long does the whole process take?
Typically three to six months from placement to final restoration, because bone needs time to integrate with the implant. Grafting adds to that.
Are implants painful?
Placement is done under local anesthetic, with sedation available. Most patients describe the recovery as easier than an extraction.
Can anyone have one?
Most people can. Uncontrolled diabetes, smoking, some medications and insufficient bone all affect suitability — the 3D scan and a medical history review tell us where you stand.
