Sedation & Comfort
Oral Sedation
A prescribed tablet before your visit for deeper, longer relaxation.
Oral sedation means taking a prescribed sedative before your appointment. It is deeper than nitrous oxide and lasts through a longer visit, which makes it well suited to combining several treatments into one sitting.
You remain conscious and able to respond, but relaxed to the point of drowsiness, and most patients remember very little of the appointment afterwards. We monitor you throughout.
It requires planning: a review of your medical history and current medications, instructions to follow beforehand, and a responsible adult to bring you and take you home. You must not drive for the rest of the day.
